DESCRIPTION:Food Preparation and Nutrition GCSE Termly \nDevelop your knowledge and understanding of food and nutrition\, improve your practical food preparation and cooking skills. \nAbout this event \nThis is a 1 year GCSE course\, based upon food preparation\, nutrition and food science. \nYou will apply knowledge and understanding to complete investigations and practical activities. \nThe course prepares you for assessment of ” Food Investigation and Food Preparation”. you will gain advice on practice questions to prepare you for written assessment. \nWe will be learning about: \n* Nutrition \n*Food Provenance and Food Choice \n*Cooking and Food Preparation \n*Preparation and Cooking Techniques \nAs part of the course we will complete the following NEA (Non Examined Assessments) assessments: \n*Food Science Investigation ( 15% of overall mark) \n*Food Preparation (35% of overall mark) \nThere is also a written examination paper in June 2025(50% of overall mark) \nThis is mainly an online course\, 7 weeks of the half term will be delivered via google classroom. Within the 60 minutes we will complete theory\, practicals and prepare for assessment. Part of of the course is based on individual\, independent cooking\, so there is a food cost implication. \nStudents are also invited on site (Sutton Coldfield) to complete a practical of which all ingredients provided for. \nThis Food Preparation and Nutrition GCSE Termly is suitable for those of 13+. We also accomodate all dietary requirements. \n*Please note this is £105 per half term (fluctuates depending on number of weeks)there are 5.5 half terms in the course. The overall cost without booking fees is £500 \n*There is also an exam fee of £176 payable separately to Tutors and Exams https://www.tutorsandexams.uk \nAbout Worship Worth Experiences \nWorship Worth Experiences is based in the Midlands conveniently located within Canwell\, Sutton Coldfield\, established in 2019 specialising in teaching food and creating unique learning experiences for all\, whether that be in person or online. \nAt Worship Worth Experiences\, Alison Worship offers 1:1 cooking tuition and group cooking classes for children at KS3 and GCSE. Classes are taught online\, with a mixture of practical and theory. There are also in person practical sessions on site held termly as part of the GCSE course in their indoor and outdoor kitchen. \nWhen learning with Worship Worth Experiences\, children have access to live lessons\, lesson recordings\, resources\, regular feedback from their tutor\, Alison. Worship Worth Experiences combines the expertise of a qualified teacher and examiner with the flexibility of home education or private study. In doing this\, Alison aims to offer a friendly\, supportive and inclusive learning environment\, where the relationships between tutor\, students and their families are considered to be as important as progress and learning itself. Thus\, helping each child achieve their full potential. \nWorship Worth Experiences is delighted to be working with Tutors and Exams in facilitating children to attain the GCSE qualifications they work hard to achieve. \nAlison qualified as a teacher in 2012; she has an excellent track record. She is DBS checked. Alison has a passion for food and has 15 years experience working in catering and business management. She holds Food Hygiene Level 2\, is First Aid trained and holds a 5 star Food Hygiene rating.
